Belladonna nibbled at the grass
Evenstar sniffed at the grass, then went to Eowyn to nurse

"Can we compromise? Could you come back with me, gather up the herd and we bring them out here...together? In the middle of nowhere, perhaps I wouldn't have to constantly be on the move when another stud tries to steal someone." Dour's main problem was wandering mares and being too close to other studs' territories.

Qnnalise stomped her hoof. She would not meet Dour's eyes, for fear of him seeing hers glisten with tears. "I have an idea. Keep the herd where it is. I'm going to explore, just for a week. I'll be back... I promise."

( Just for future reference, a horse doesn't really ask another if she'd be his mate. He'd probably have mated her already, too. Horses don't miss a chance to spread their genes. )

Ava whinnied feebly. She was fixing to have her foal.
Chestnut trotted around.
Coral, seeing that the two stallions were not fighting anymore, returned to Lissa.

Violet listened. "I don't think Titan loves me, either," she said quietly.

"Oh, I'm sure he does. Just give him a chance," Dusky said. "I didn't really think he loved me for quite a while."

Farylyn gave out a warning whinny. Daisy was probably about 100 yards away, but it was still to close.

A little while later, a palomino paint colt was born.

Farylyn licked it off and urged it to stand. She dipped her head down to catch him if he fell.

The colt was unsteady on his feet at first, but soon got the hang of it and began to search for the spot to nurse.
