Gals, do your chickens peck your nail polish?

Yes! I had to quit wearing flip flops into the coop. My chick's are bigger now and their pecks HURT. It's not cute any more, lol. Mine can get my whole pinky tip into their beak if I'm not on top of my game.

I don't wear nail polish, but sometimes visitors in summer wearing sandals will have lacquered toes in shiny, bright colors. The chickens, who see colors and are attracted to shiny things, will focus on the toes, and their pecking can be very off-putting, my visitors fleeing in pain.

The same goes for earrings. One needs to remember to remove studs and clip-ons when handling chicks or risk losing your valuable jewelry.

Mine show no interest in nail polish nowadays, maybe because I always have it on so it's not "special" to them anymore. They do like to peck at my boots though, they like that I kick up stuff and leave behind muddy puddles.

I have 4 new chickens that have never seen nail polish before. When I put some on for a night out, the day after I went to see my Amber Star Hen, who always lets me pick her up, and then I went to pick her up and she pecked my finger. It really hurt and I don't think I will be wearing nail polish out there again. :hit:hit:hit

Same. I usually wear my chicken sloggers when I tend the birds, but on the occasions I just go in wearing flip flops a few will peck my toes. I think its so funny tho when they tilt their heads back and forth to get a good look at my toes, making sure each eye gets a good look.
