galvanized feeders vs. plastic feeder

I reckon the plastic ones were a cost saving measure in the manfacturing end.

They are simpler to mold than to press, form, spot weld and galvanize, as is done with the metal type. However, if you are environmentally motivated dont look too deeply into them. Just smile and pedal on, knowing they aren't plastic.

While the metal fixtures have a tendency to rust over time, that really does no harm if it occurs. They last a long time and were the standard for many decades. Solid choice.
