Galvanized metal lath?

Okay BYC folks...need your thoughts...

Can galvanized metal lath sheets be used instead of hardware cloth around the run? It's $0.75/ft compared to $1.15/ft for hardware cloth... I wouldn't have to cut it, snip the tines or cuss a blue streak while manhandling it...

Lath: 27" x 8' sheet $5.97

Cloth: 2' x 25' roll $28.70

Probably....but you'll still be cussing.
That stuff is sharper on the edges, and surface, than HC.
It also may not be as 'open'.
Go buy a piece and see what you think if it.

Yeah that stuff is worse than razor wire and it still finds a way to rust! I would bite the bullet and invest in hardware cloth. So much nicer.

I use the lathe to bury where I'm blocking rodents. You want good gloves and you'll still bleed. I wouldn't personally use it as coop or run walls, not nice stuff to touch.

Then again wherever I use it the rodents don't dig under.
