Galvanized tub okay to use as duck pond?

We have a galvanized tub at home that I was thinking of using for my two supposed Mallard but leaning towards Rouen ducklings that we got from TSC. Is this okay to use or is there something in the metal that may be toxic to them? Also, how large of a tub would you recommend for two ducks? Thanks!

Something to consider, even with just two ducks, is you need to change out the water pretty regularly or have fresh water running through it pretty regularly. I think that is why many people end up using a kiddie pool because they are so easy to tip and drain.

I would be cautious. In one study, we used galvanized water water pans and the brains showed elevated zinc levels. ...never looked to see if they were at toxic levels.. ..it was only a 24 hr trial.
