"gambling" with fate to defend my eggs' life (he/she make it!!!!)

Yes yes and yes and

Yes, you may spray--good to do if you are having to open the incubator (like with the kerosene). Your humidity sounds okay--not great, but okay.

Yes, you may help--but only as a last resort. As long as he's making progress and sounds strong, it's best to let him get himself out. He'll be stronger and hardier for it.

Duck eggs take 24-48 hours to hatch even under the best circumstances. My rule is, if it's started to zip and hasn't made any progress for 24 hours, I start considering helping.

If you decide to help, search these forums for instructions (I think there's as sticky at the top of this forum), and follow them.

Good luck. And:

actually, i help him/her out from his sticky shell after i see he/she never sounded or moving and the humidity can't be increased higher anymore, i put wet cloth around the egg and slowly release her/him using my nail

and finally he/she is *unegged*
smile.png

but, i'm worry much about he/she. look at her/him size, i think he/she look so small and he/she can't even stand steady till now (almost 5 hours). is that normal? will she/he can walk normally like any duck?

i also have a small duck that have one of her feet "broken" and unable to use it.
hit.gif
i don't know how to help her out. the stupid fool dog tread on her while tried to eat her and i gave the dog very horrible punishment because of that mistake he has done.

Congrats on the duckie!

Hopefully s/he is just tired and needing a lot of rest. It has been a rough time for this baby!
fl.gif
that s/he will be just fine in a few more hours.

Glad the baby made it. They are very tired when it is hard to hatch.

For the baby with the bad foot - you can make a splint/brace for it with tape and cardboard, to hold it out flat while it heals. It will not like it but it will work if you keep putting it back on when it gets it off and keep trying.

See you are doing good even if the power goes out. It may be very hard but you have beaten the power outages and won! It is just very much harder for you than us.

You did it, mulia!! You did it! Despite the horrible power company--you DID IT!!

I'm so proud of you.

The duckling will probably gain strength after a few hours. He is ADORABLE, and looks absolutely perfect--so fluffy and beautiful.

Congratulations!!!

@ heather : thank you so much, i hope he/s would have her feet stronger later.
smile.png

@ paganbird : thank you, now i'm a *father* of this baby duck.
smile.png

@ walkswithdog : not only her but i also tired
wink.png
have to *operating* the shell to make her out. i'm still waiting for her brother to hatch (if he make it).
smile.png
thank you for the suggestion. that's for my little duck not for this just hatched duck.
smile.png

@ wegotchickens : i hope so that he/she will be stronger later. thank you so much.

OMG, this is very difficult. i will (perhaps) give he/she name as *POD* abbreviation from Power Outages Duck .
gig.gif
since he/she was born with very2 frequent power outages.

and i think it's better if (maybe) one day i want to incubate again, i didn't want to use duck eggs again, that's very difficult to do with this power outages, high humidity can't be gain result to high loss to the life of embryos. so i think if i want to incubate again i will prefer chicken eggs than duck eggs.
big_smile.png
and i really see that every duck have a very dangerous weakness, their FEET, their feet is very weak and easily *damaged* after running too fast or *fall* or other, that's why i always get trouble when raising duck.

aw, my chicken eggs just 20 that survive till now, didn't know how much will fail more with this power outages happening everyday.
sad.png

i hope they are always fine.
fl.gif

i don't want to disturb my duck and let her sleep but she's not going to sleep at all so i just bugging her by playing with her.
gig.gif

i hope all of your hatch also success and you can do better cause you won't need any kerosene lamp readily to light beside your bator like mine.
hit.gif

thank you all, this only can be achieved by all of your help.

Congratulations Mulia! We are all cheering your success! You took care of that little duck even with the power outages! You didn't give up. It is wonderful that he hatched. We pray now for his good health. Send our

to little POD.

And thank you for sharing this exciting and suspenceful process with all of us. It was like reading a mystery novel. Maybe you should write a book about it.

oh thank you tomato lady, i just wonder what's wrong with her, it's now almost mid night here and she even didn't want to sleep at all.
roll.png

i also hope that she always health since i need to operate to get her out with low humidity.

thank you for the prayer. i really appreciate it.
smile.png

wew, write a book?
big_smile.png
i'm afraid that there will be no publisher that will want to publish/print/sell it.
big_smile.png

but that's a good idea, maybe with subject *POD the Survivor*
