"gambling" with fate to defend my eggs' life (he/she make it!!!!)

That's my favorite, and it was screaming like I was torturing it!

tomato lady, I'll post more pics as they grow, if you want (and Mulia). Hopefully they'll be cute! They didn't have any sign of a tuft when they hatched.

Mulia, I really wish I could send you some eggs. But by the time they got there they wouldn't hatch

When will you be posting new pics of yours?

now

i really hate this camera phone, yes i realize it has been *serving* me for almost 4 years, but my sony ericsson did better, it has been serving for almost 6 years
big_smile.png

my N6600 only survived to take 2 pics, i'll force it to work more job tomorrow , perhaps also taking pics of the whole wider coop, unfortunately my SE own no camera. the coop now will be able to accommodate at least 20 chickens while i only have 2 mature and 8 chicks inside now.
big_smile.png

i'm so happy to have them doing well outside without need of bulb, etc.

i'm now giving flock, especially chicks mung beans and sprouted mung beans, it contains high protein, got the idea with help from feeding section, really helpful. but mung beans never substitute fish since my hen grow her fully feathers back with me feeding her lots of fish that i can't obtain anymore, and they don't even go better with mung beans, remarkable protein source those fish.

now, these 2 pics, i make a divider also using chicken wire to ensure that roo and elder hen don't attack the chicks and make it easier to them to know each other so the senior won't attack them when they're mature later.

Thanks for the new pics! Your set-up looks wonderful. Good that you built big, since we know you'll hatch more when school is out
lau.gif

You're addicted to hatching and chickens like the rest of us!!

ups
gig.gif
, you catch me got addicted to hatch and chicken.
hide.gif

that's true, when school's out or perhaps if i see a *stable* electricity condition even for only 1 day, i'll find the eggs ASAP and put it directly inside bator when it arrive.
big_smile.png
maybe still long enough from now.
sad.png

glad i've prepared the coop wide/large enough for the flock and future flock to stay happy, and of course high enough so the roo can mate the girls without having his head knock/hit the roof
gig.gif
.

i have take many enough pics, unfortunately i don't have space anymore to upload it so i choose third party image hosting.

the mean roo with 2 girls, i saw him mating the girls yesterday, that mean i'll have fertile egg if i put the girl back to main coop, the girls only want to lay if put inside main coop or free ranged
rant.gif
and unfortunately, i never see my nice roo mate any girl and none of egg fertile when the girls with him and i don't know if this mean roo has made my girl will produce fertile or not egg. too many situation, i can't move those 2 laying ladies to main coop since i'm still introducing black hen to main coop to make her as senior.

Mulia, glad to see your chicks have turned into great looking chickens. You take very good care of them. I think of you often and wonder how things are with you. Please keep us updated on your chickens and yourself. I know I am not the only one that still check this thread daily. We all have learned to care for you and your birds through your power outages and other mishaps along the way.

Your Friend,
Barbara

Great pics!!! Look how they have grown in such a short time. Looks like you might have a roo or two in there also. You have indeed done a good job of caring for them. They look healthy and happy. Thanks for the update.

@ wegotchickens : you're welcome. i'm just feel strange of their eating behavior, they've eat so much and when i'm painting better paint at afternoon they keep cheeping like starving.
roll.png

not at all, i've seen much coop in BYC, and mine is nothing compared to other BYCers, but at least they can live happily without any predator that keep an eye to tear their neck like what happened to one of my duck.
sad.png
thank you.

@ bloomnbeauty : yes, i've identified 2 roos so far and i'm wishing no more roo since i don't have room anymore to divided them to prevent them kill each other.
sad.png
yap, 6:30 AM each morning for their breakfast and lunch. no dinner at all, they won't understand if i give them a candle light/lite dinner.
big_smile.png
you're much welcome.

Your chickens are looking great. It looks like you have them nice and safe. My chickens beg for food too. Their feeder is always full, but when they see me they act like they haven't seen food in a week.

I have 31 chickens in my big coop and 23 young ones in my little coop. When I go into my big coop with the older girls they flock around my feet and I have to push chickens away so I can walk. They peck at my shoes and my pants. All this time they are very loud, all "yelling" at once.
hide.gif
I have to throw some corn down so I can even get to their nest boxes to check for eggs. As soon as the corn hits the floor, there is quiet in the coop.

Silly chickens. They weren't happy to see me at all. They just wanted treats.

Here is one of my girls taking a dust bath.
