Game Birds (got a couple questions)

how in the world do you guys keep game birds without them killing each other if they are that bad?

they are not that bad , i just have all my cocks , and stags penned in there own pen , or on a tie cord , some hens are loose and some are in with the cocks , after may 31st i take all my cocks out from with the hens , and pen them by there self and pen all the hens together , i dont like my cocks chaseing and breeding hens when it is over 100 degrees , after you get the hang of it there is no problems lol , thats why games are usally a little high priced they take a bit of care but are worth it i wouldnt have any other breeds,

My breeder are in separate pens, the stags and cocks in round pens... mine never roam free (beautiful birds but they are mean by nature)

JS gamefowl is pretty correct, and it is necessary for more aggressive breeds. But none of my pens had the barriers around the bottom while my American game cock free ranged, he definitely did chase OEGB's at times through the wire. But about 90% of the time he didn't worry about them until they got too close to him. It will be the same for the silkies, he approaches and they run. But once he stops hanging around they'll just go back to normal everyday life.

I agree with Daniel. I have 2 kennels with hens and 1 rooster in each, no barriers other than chain link fence, their heads can get through. I also have a Kentucky game rooster that runs my yard free range. He cruises around the pens for the most part of the day and "stands off" with the roosters in the pens but no one has ever been hurt.

One of my domestic roosters has attacked me and my water jugs (he put large holes in them) just when I was entering the pen, my game rooster just moves out of the way when I pass by him. My domestic rooster's spurs have become very mature and seem to be even more dangerous than my game's spurs. I believe that my domestic rooster want to fight me daily, but I throw scratch to keep him out of my path.

I think I prefer the game rooster in temperment. My game rooster can also walk into my Akita's area and eat from his food bowl. This Akita has killed 2 mallard ducks and a white rooster who all flew out of the kennels into his area. The game rooster dusts himself with a few feet of this dog and the dog does not pay the first bit of attention to him. Haven't figured it out yet. Hope this helps.
