My Coturnix are getting to that age that the males need processed. I want to get some good shears. I hunt elk and deer and one thing that makes it easier for me to pack it out and process it is good equipment. I know I will need good equipment for this cause I'm already worried about doing it! I raised these guys! SO does anyone have a brand they roccommend or thoughts about some of them out there. I have seen

Gerber.... looks cheap to me but can't see as well as I'd like
Mossberry
Chef's Choice
Trizor

I'd love your thoughts.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm planning on using just plain old kitchen shears. Coturnix necks are so tiny, I don't think it would take a "professional" shear to do the job correctly. Hopefully Monarc23 will weigh in on this

Who would have thought I could process an Elk but am so worried about my birdies. I have some kitchen shears but the blades seem short to me and the game shears I've seen have such long blades. I would end up buying something anyways. If something happened that the bird suffered I'd never forgive myself!

get a game winner proccessing kit from academy or somewhere ($20). it has multiple knives and guthooks as well as a nice pair of game shears
