Are there any games scheduled?

Not that I have seen. So glad there wasn't one yesterday. I had a little too much beer at the party and came home and lights out! Bill took care of all the birds. I still have to make it out to the garage to go the seramas and chicks this morning but the house birds and bigger birds are all set. I wont be playing anything tonight-Walking Dead premier is on at 10!!!!!!

Just me allowing another person to get to me. There was a person who won eggs on this thread, then confessed he was a minor and couldn't pay shipping, but I sent him the eggs anyway. After which he has been a bit of a bother. He hasn't been directly rude, or mean, or derogatory. It's his overall demeanor. He behaves like a person much younger than he claims to be. He is impatient and unrealistic. He comes across as either very needy or very lonely. Or perhaps he just lacks communication skills and I'm interpreting his posts and PMs differently than they were intended. Text is oh so much harder to interpret intent than live conversation!

You're right on your other post. I can choose to put up with him or not. I keep giving people the benefit of the doubt, the Golden Rule, and all. I have bad days too, make some dumb decisions, some really dumb decisions, so I try to look at things from different perspectives. Of course I fail most of the time. I must have driven some people crazy myself.

I tried to ignore him. But when this person started posting on that other threads, that I don't normally read, tagging me asking about why an Ayam Cemni would have feathered legs (exclamation!!!), I interpreted that as a direct attack on the quality of my stock and my reputation, implying for everyone to see that I was a scammer. Maybe I read too much into it. Maybe it was just his immaturity showing. Doesn't make it ok to openly discredit people without the facts or doing a little research. It's bad enough that some now think my stock is worthless because I'm giving eggs away. Don't need to reinforce their beliefs with posts about feathered legs or even that I don't respond to posts.

I thought sure my post yesterday on that other thread would have earned me an infraction. Much to my surprise it has instead received several ovations. I am surprised, yet relieved. and grateful.

It's hard not to let someone get to you when the attack something you are passionate about. For this particular reason, it is why I am not going to sell my serama eggs or chicks. Every bird that hatches is not going to be a champion. People say they want "pet" quality and then end up trying to breed or sell as "champion" birds which tarnishes my reputation as a breeder. When I take a chance on buying eggs, I know there is only a slim chance I will get a really great bird. Same goes for chicks. Thats why my breeders work with me and make it affordable for me to get great birds-because they know I won't sell or show garbage and advertise them as their line. and until I get my best breeding trios, I probably wont let much go. My breeder places all my "pet" quality birds in petting zoos and with kids who are interested to see if they are responsible enough to get a good bird. So sad that some people take advantage of the kindness of others. I know most people who have gotten your birds are grateful and will do them justice. It stinks this happened to you but everything happens for a reason and I believe it has opened the eyes of the BYC community to scammers and dishonest people. God Bless You @cjwaldon !!!

Many say not to trust the thermometers on them, but I've had really good luck with those too... but for hygrometers, reptile ones are made to be in high humidity for extended periods so I found they last longer and are much more accurate... like I said though, when they go, they go, lol...

And no, it's not just you... he gets to everyone...

It's a landrace pretty much at this point in time and most just want the total fibro side of the bird and don't care about looks, as you pretty much stated, I believe in the education thread where the feathered leg exclamation was... that's why I wanted to win your eggs... I got some Hmong now, so I got my fibro to play with...there is red/brown showing up, but I plan to mix them anyways... I'm digressing there... if one were to WIN eggs/chicks...only PAY for SHIPPING, in this case not even that... they HAVE NO ROOM TO COMPLAIN! I hope this doesn't taint you from what you already have been doing, and I still feel bad for cross threading that game and drawing to minors in... so sorry

The thing is, there are a lot of points to this issue... there is a lot of history of someone who crossed AC's and passed them off as true... overcoming that has been a long hard battle that still continues... and while crossing is done in many breeds for many reasons, landraces should never be crossed as a rule when keeping them true... landrace breeds depend on their genes staying pure to be considered landrace... they just aren't bred for specific traits...
