I need the geese experts!! This morning my 30lb toulouse gander, Cricket, has disappeared😔 No blood, no feathers, no nothing. He was bonded with my chickens and never went out of their sight. He was mating my Roman tufted female earlier this week so we thought maybe she had laid an egg and he was sitting on it? But we've searched our property and he's just not here. Could he have flown away with migrating geese? I only ever saw him fly a few feet off the ground. No one around us has geese or waterfowl close by.

Please help!!! All my chickens act fine so I really don't think it was a predator attack. The last time I seen him was at 4:30 yesterday evening. They all free range together on several acres with a mobile coop for shelter at night. We have a creek that is full during wet weather. Could he have swam down the creek and got lost??

Toulouse are too heavy too fly off with wild geese, so I don't think that's what happened to him. Unfortunately a predator is probably most likely. ☹️
I've never heard of ganders sitting on eggs, either.

We've searched and search and no remains🤷‍♀️ but we'll look until we find him or what's left of him😔
