So 7-8 months ago I purchased 2 female geese. They're great. Naughty af but great. Today I believe they laid their first egg (see attached photo) It was huge. A bit bigger than my ducks eggs. But we think it's the geese because they built a pretty big nest which the ducks don't do. So when I cracked it to feed it to my chickens because I had too many...it looked fertilized. The white ring in the yolk. It's the same as what a fertilized chickens egg looks like correct? I didn't take a picture because I wasn't expecting this. They are both girls! Or so I thought. I have seen them mating but my all female flock of ducks do that for dominance. How can I know for sure? They are practically identical. I'm tempted to give their next egg to a broody chicken to see if this is the case. My teeny tiny seramas are the only broody ones atm. That would be funny. What do you think? The hatchery got it wrong?
