I have been treating my absolute favorite bird, clyde for about a week now. Earlier this winter he was limping ship he came into the garage to heal. After about a week he was completely back to normal. Now again I found him limping and brought him back in to the kennel. After a few days he just continued to get worse which had me it was bumble foot. All prepared to do surgery i realized it was not bumblefoot, into the house he came. I have done everything I can think of and have done constant research but can not find anything resembling his symptoms. Has a huge appetite, drinking well, high spirits and seems relaxed. His feet started out a grayish green, has the most god awful smell and this morning lost the outer layer of skin.
I really do not want to lose him, he is as bad as one of our dogs. I never thought you could get so attached to a rooster before him, but I genuinely love him. If his spirits weren't up like they were and he didn't have an appetite, I think I would have ended his suffering. It definitely could be gangrene, but is there any hope for him if it is? Will he be able to walk again? Could this be something else? None of my other birds have any of these symptoms.....Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I'm so heartbroken. His feet are dead. I took a scalpel and cut into his toe, no bleeding or pink tissue. I went down to the bone and he never flinched. Sucks

I’m so sorry...what a awful situation. When you mentioned a horrible smell I thought this didn’t sound good. Are you able to post some pictures?
It a horrible feeling I understand. And yes we all love our chickens it’s not crazy. Do you think there’s help for him?

They are literally rotting, since removing all the skin this morning I can actually see how bad it is. Im just sick, I feel so bad I have dragged this out and he has been dealing with this the whole time
