Cleaning out the garden this week, are there any plants they cannot eat besides tomato? I have beans, squash, pepper, cucumber, and some mystery vine that never did produce anything.

Don't know for sure, but maybe pepper, potato and eggplant, since they are in the same family as tomato. (Nightshade) I doubt that a little tomato plant would hurt them.

Would they eat plants that are not good for them ? That would be the question. If you let them free range, you have no control over what they eat. They eat it because it tastes good. If I grab a handful of greens from the yard, it amazes me how they pick through it : clover gone, dandelion leaves gone, but there may be something in that handful they will not touch. Not an expert, but just my theory.
