Gardening for Old Folks (Adaptative)

47F and sunny. don't need a heavy winter coat for a change. I went down and mowed a pile of dried grass and spread it over the garlic bed. I am not going to do any more to it until I have to cut the scapes.
I don't expect many weeds.
after I pull the garlic, I think I will use that bed for starting root stock.
elderberries, apples and plums. maybe plant a crop of something, too. maybe beets ? we will see.

Moved some Rabbits and Bitties yesterday, the 4 Florida Whites were in the woodshed since early March they are in a big hutch I had to put a top back on, got it done.. Marans and RIR chicks are finally on the ground in the big open bottom brooder and out of the wire brooder, discovering dust baths and chasing bugs, flyin around learning to be chickens.. fun to watch. And I finally cleaned up the bee yard.. y’all have a great day, I’m gonna go fishing today after I hit the feed store..

Flint, what are you fishing for ? We still have ice on the lakes here. I like to go after perch , crappies and blue gills (brim). If I happen to catch a bass, or walleye or northern, that is OK too.
today I am going to change the gas in the tiller. put some of this new high priced gas in. lol

Caught 2 channel cat.. about a pound and a half each.. they’ll make the grease stink come supper time..
Flint, what kind of dog is that in your avatar ?
Mine is a Maremma . We had to put her down a year ago. Old age and crippling up.
Me brother catches catfish once in awhile when fishing for walleyes.
We have bullheads, too.

He is a Anatolian Shepherd Great Pyrenees cross.. Boone is his name... he’s a goodun.. sorry to hear about your dog..
Our daughter had an Anatolian. She kept her for 7 years, then gave her to us. We kept her until she died at 16 years old. The best dog we ever had.
We raised the Maremmas and sold puppies all over the USA. In all we sold about 50 puppies and a few adults. Lots of work involved.
