Gardening for Old Folks (Adaptative)

I am buying seed for next year bigger most of ours are smaller so far.
If you want a big pumpkin with wonderful flesh and short season, it's hard to beat Big Moose. I get mine at Johnny Seeds.

Do you save your own seeds, or don't want cross pollinated second generation pumpkins?
I normally only grow F1 hybrids which makes saving seeds pointless.

I did make my own hybrid last year which did not meet the intended goal.

I did plant some saved seeds from Cinnamon Girl F1 hybrid which resulted in interesting small pumpkins.

What will you do with them? Sell them? Eat them? They really are magnificent!
I give most of them away. At least one woman feeds them to her horses.

Some go to families whose kids love them and decorate them. One woman bakes the seeds and really loves how big the seeds from the big pumpkins are.

Some of them get fed to my poultry.

I have made pumpkin pies and pumpkin muffins from them too.
