:goodpost: I enlarged the pix and still do not see a Wild Turkey. Time to seek NEW GLASSES. :gig Last I remember they have 2 legs, not 4.:idunno

Here it is!

Wild turkey.jpg

You're welcome :lau

I used to have a single Wild turkey hen that came in every spring to breed with my toms. She would then lay a clutch of eggs down in the field and stay until she hatched her poults. She did that for seven years in a row but is probably dead now since she hasn't been back for a couple of years. She would have probably been one that first year so 8 years old should be a ripe old age for a wild turkey hen.

Sweet. Did you ever see her poults? Wouldn't it be sweet if her daughters continued this habit!

I did see her poults. I have no way of knowing if her poults survived to adulthood. She never brought any other turkeys with her during her visits. It has now been two years since any Wild turkeys have shown up. I did however have a neighbor's turkey show up last year after his flock was scattered and partially killed by dogs whose owner felt it was okay to just let them run loose. She had been missing for at least 3 weeks before she showed up here. He was really happy to get her back.

I still need to set up lights and shelving after i move out the fabric. Wondering how to keep cats out. Maybe wood frames with chicken wire. I can reuse it in the garden around my raised beds later. I want to frame in the whole garden and use it for a chicken run to keep bugs down.

Hubs just assembled the wheelbarrow he got me for Christmas, so it's ready to go once spring gets here. Looks nice and sturdy. I tried it out on the porch, and I think the two wheeled version will be easier for me to handle, considering my arthritic hands, and troublesome elbow that was dislocated twice within a year. Ready for spring!
