Gardening for Old Folks (Adaptative)

What kind of roses did you plant? I planted Sunny Knock Out roses last year, and love them! They have the best smell, and bloom all the way till frost.

Love the knock out roses, but have a brown- or blighted thumb when it comes to them. I planted some Austin roses last year and they look so sad, I am transplanting Drift roses in their place- I love the compact, constant blooming little things. I love the white, coral and apricot color roses. I never had a problem with blight or aphids or black spot on the Drift- granted, they are not as grand as the knock out, but I say play to your strengths- I really envy those who can do Knockouts..

I have knock outs. Am in zone 5 so do get some winter destruction. I prune off all the dead branches in early spring as soon as I see what is growing. I feed, but not overfeed with Miracle Grow. Blooms go all summer. I don't categorize them as the prettiest, but they are hardy and disease resistant compared to my other rose bushes.

Beautiful @oldhenlikesdogs I've always had a fondness for Marigolds and Zinnias. (Ok, and just about everything else that flowers)

started tomatoes and peppers in the greenhouse, already had to transplant , will take those back to pa when we go back and went ahead and planted butter lettuce in a raised bed, all came up. hoping we get to eat some before hubby decides he wants to go back north

panhandle of florida, my home state, have live in hubbys home state pa. since 1970 but we retired in 2012 and HE wanted the winters down here , which i was all for

I don't blame you. I'm getting very tired of Maine winters. However, I don't know if I could be a snow bird.
