A few threads back, someone posted a photo of a caterpillar. It is a black swallowtail butterfly. They love dill and parsley. The monarch is yellow and black striped.

I planted the last pear tree today. Had to cut the pot to get it out. Yesterday i got the mulberry bushes planted.

Just wanted to share some pix after a couple of light frosts. Heavy Duty Frosts are coming to my area this week.... Pretty much will finish off all remaining plants. Except my Evergreens and Hollies,,,
Fire Bush (or Burning Bush) turned a nice reddish shade.

This is my Japanese Maple I planted this Spring. I'm happy it took to growing. It is a SLOW grower. Nice reddish foliage.

Some remaining rose blooms. I plan on feeding the plants somewhat better next year.

This is just my personal observation. These are Silver Maple trees. Usually they turn from green to brown. (mine). This year they turned somewhat golden yellow. I think it has something to do with the way the temps gradually dropped.
They look prettier with FULL sun shining. It was partly cloudy when I took this pix.

This is my Hawthorn. Adds nice FALL color to backyard.

Very nice. We have been done here for about a month now. Frozen ground coming this week, along with some snow. I had already forgotten what flowers and vegetation looked like. I'm on to bird feeding season.
