I am growing long skinny sweet peppers. They are green with thin skin, and ripen to red. They get about 6 inches long or more and are about the diameter of a finger. I think they may be the ones used to make Paprika. My seeds originally came from Turkey. The plant survived through a winter in Central Florida and is still producing. If anyone wants seeds as I harvest the fruit I will collect them for you...
I also have Hopi Red Dye Amaranth coming up from seeds I did not collect last year. These will not be ready until end of summer this year, but I if you let me know you want them, I will collect them for you. The leaves and seeds are edible, as are the flowers (you could add them as garnish on a salad) and the flowers make red dye. I cut one to use in salad, then didn't make the salad: I put the cutting in water and noticed that the water turned pink, so I bet you could crush the stems for a dye, too. The leaves don't have much flavor, but they are a lovely burgandy color, with some green sometimes.
I have never done a swap: do I have join the swap page to list this?
