Garlic for chickens?

Garlic is laying stimulant, anti-fungal and it boosts the immune, respiratory and circulatory systems. Also, it's thought that mites and other parasites dislike the taste of chicken blood if the chicken is fed garlic often. Garlic reduces the smell in chicken poo and has been proven to be a natural wormer. It doesn't effect the taste of eggs either. Garlic is amazing in chickens!

It is a well known scientific fact that garlic repels vampires. So your chickens are safe from them. Zombies - I really don't know.

What are you? Twelve?

Claiming that as a reason, and it being TRUE are not necessarily the same.
Many times such lore is repeated, but not factual.

I'd want to see scientific studies before I'd put a lot ot faith in the theory
The Chicken Chick just had a very long article about the antibacterial effects of garlic from a leading herbalist. Here is the list of references from that article:

Garlic is a very potent antibacterial & antifungal agent in humans & most animals. In excess, it can cause pernicious anemia.

I am a human medical professional, but I have read each of these studies and found the science to be very sound. Please read them for yourself & if you have questions, I will be happy to discuss them via PM.

I am looking for a good natural way to deworm and keep my chickens mite and lice free. Would cayenne pepper and garlic powder be a good decision?

Thanks. I'm new to this and don't want to harm my chickens. Any advice is well appreciated.

For those using garlic, how much and how often do you give it to your chickens? TIA
