One of my bantam chicks is either gasping or choking, she is very limp and probably close to death - I tried looking down her throat, but there isn't anything I can see.. is there any advice you guys can give me?? I don't think there is very much time :(

I'm so sorry...and sorry I was no help. I'm sitting here with a sick one in my lap waiting for some suggestions too.

Gosh Im so sorry to hear that. Mine died this morning too. Shoo now Im worried about my ohiki that seems to be in the same shape. Geeze Ive learned a valuable lesson, never assume if you know your chickens are way under wieght that they are going thru just a stage to adulthood. That was my lesson today. A hard one learned and just wanted to share so any other newbie reading wouldnt have to learn it the way I did. I sure do send you guys a big hug!!!!!

Thank you both very much!

I am feeling a bit better now - it is hard to lose a chick, especially when I couldn't do anything to help it.
Yinzerchick, I really hope yours recovers - I looked at your thread, but I don't have any advice.. wish I did! Best of luck with your hen. And I am sorry about your chicken highhopes :( I will have to check my chicks, I don't think they are skinny, just a bit bony..
I brought my chick to the vet, he said that she wasn't choking on anything, and that he'll examine her to see if he can figure out what happened.

I hope he can give you some answers...it's so frustrating when you just don't know what to do,

or what happened. Apparently, nobody knows what I should do, so I'll just try to use common sense and hope for the best. Good luck and let us know if you find out anything.
