I gave my chicken water with a syringe and then she died, did I kill her? She has been very lethargic and weak for a day and had a poopy but. This morning she had red ants all over her
and bleeding around her vent. I gave her a bath and tried to feed her and then gave her water and then she died. Did she have mites/lice?

Was her vent plugged up with poo? Cuz if that happens, they will die. Esp if they eat/drink, cuz they can't pass out the waste. If she had lice/mites you would see them. Sorry you lost her.

Thank-you, no her vent was not plugged but she must have been very weak to have big ants crawling on her, so sad.

Hi Misty51, if you just dribbled the water onto her lower beak then no, you didn't do anything wrong. Sometimes it can go down the wrong way if it's going in under pressure or if it's put into the throat. But it sounds like your poor girl was very very sick and not going to make it anyway.

I'm sorry you lost her.
