Gave my broody eggs tonight...first time for both of us...anyone else start some today, 4-4-12?

I don't want to get egg-cited, but I THINK I see a pip in one of the SSG's...

The five that hatched are doing good, but looking at them makes me think I had humidity issues. One little guy has wry neck, another has cross beak and wry neck. Both could be caused not only be genetics, but by high humidity. I wonder if I wasn't just drowning the chicks? I need to get a new hydrometer so I can test this theory.

What are you going to do with the wry neck ones?

Haven't decided if I'm going to cull yet or not. It's pretty bad, and even when fixed there's a possibility of it passing on to future offspring... I'm going to try some Poly-Vi-Sol if they don't straighten out with some electrolytes and time. Right now one has it's head completely underneath itself and the other looks straight up... but slightly to the right. Could be a humidity thing. Could be because one of the hens in that pen had wry neck BAD as a chick and still has a slight crook in her neck today, two years later.

Really can't decide. Still no pips or movement from the other eggs. I will keep waiting, I see life in some.
