Im building a chicken coop for my GCSE DT project.I have to do a questionnaire for part of the design so i was wondering if you guys could be kind enough to quote my questionnaire and answer all the q's.

1. What wood should be used? Oak Redwood Pine Cedar ---any are fine where I live so my choice would be price based

2. What Type of wood? Natural wood Engineered wood ---again, either...price. But then again, looks may come into play here, I love the look of natural wood/

3. What texture should it be? Hard Soft---hard

4. How many nest boxes should there be, should they be interior or exterior?---exterior and three I suppose would be good for me

5. How would you like to access the coop? Hinged roof side door---side door. I am old and do not want to crawl or bend unreasonably

6. How High would you like it? 70cm 85cm 100cm 115cm----100-115 cm

7. What birds do you intend to keep in it? Chickens Ducks Guinea Fowl Other:---I have both guineas and chickens

8. How would you like it to stand? Raised Ground level----- raised

9. Would you like perches? yes no----yes

HI,
Im building a chicken coop for my GCSE DT project.I have to do a questionnaire for part of the design so i was wondering if you guys could be kind enough to quote my questionnaire and answer all the q's.

1. What wood should be used? Oak Redwood Pine Cedar: I would use pine and paint it for cost

2. What Type of wood? Natural wood Engineered wood: Depends on the budget and resources.

3. What texture should it be? Hard Soft : Varies with coop design.

4. How many nest boxes should there be, should they be interior or exterior? : My chickens did not have a preference as far and interior or exterior which ever is easiest to clean and accessable

5. How would you like to access the coop? Hinged roof side door" When cleaning and deep cleaning, I prefer to open it up and make it fast and easy to scrub out and hose out, let dry and then
let the chickens get back in. So the side WALL?

6. How High would you like it? 70cm 85cm 100cm 115cm: I prefer not to stoop so waist high for the base of the floor.

7. What birds do you intend to keep in it? Chickens Ducks Guinea Fowl Other: I keep chickens

8. How would you like it to stand? Raised Ground level I live in Florida - Lots of rain and flooding so I like it raised up

9. Would you like perches? yes no

10. What kind of door would you like for the poultry? Sliding Hinged Other: We have both and I like the hinged more the slide sticks after a while.

11. What kind of roof do you want? Felt Wood Corrugated Slate - Just kidding We use felt but I like more durable roofing materials.

12. How many birds do you want it to hold? 0-4 5-9 10< At least 6 but my chickens have a large run so I can keep more in the coop

Thanks, Nick
you are welcome
