Gday
I live in a small wheatbelt town in Western Australia called Kulin. It is famous for it's Bush Races held in October and the Tin Horse Highway which is sort of part of that. We also have a big Burning Man Festival called Blazing Swan which is held at Easter time and attracts just as many people as the races.
I have a tiny flock of Silver Grey Dorkings comprised of 4 hens and 2 roosters. Living with them are 8 Isa Brown hens which are a commercial laying hybrid breed here in Australia. Not sure if they are known anywhere else. I have them as friends didn't want them anymore so I adopted them.
I used to have Light Sussex and Buff Orpington and Bantam Buff Sussex but not anymore.
I went into the Dorkings because I wanted a rare breed that are attractive and dual purpose. Another thing I like about them is that you can sex them as chicks...not that I could cull roosters cos I'm too much of a softy.
I haven't got serious about breeding a lot of them yet but hope to in the near future.
I also own and have bred Clydesdale horses. I have 2 mares and 2 stallions at the moment. All of them were bred by me except one Mare.
Well that is about it for me for now
