Gearheads

Dropped off to our mechanic yesterday. He will go through cab under seat and replace broken bolts. He’s also hooking up the a/c and hard-wiring new speedometer.
I wish I could do bolts under the seat but my truck has a double floorboard. I guess I could get a drill bit about a foot long and see where it comes out lol

I'm chasing a power drain and looking at all the headlights and taillights on the bug this weekend. Brand new battery is dead after a week of sitting. Alt is charging, so some place we've got a short or something. Since I haven't really touched the wiring on that car in 10 years and we have rats and squirrels around here, 100% not surprised.

I been having one for a while now. I am almost certain it's the final stage resistor for the electric fan on the air conditioner. To change it basically the whole dash needs to be tooken out. Instead of that I put a quick disconnect battery terminal. I'll get to it one day. It's a full 12v volt too, so 24hrs is dead.

I am seriously considering just wiring a knife switch in for the laughs.
