hi, sorry for a such silly question, I have a few geese, 4 females and one male, two of the females were goslings and raised up by the male and two females. Will the male try to mate with them in spring? (The younger females). The are all unrelated, goslings were added because the hatching off eggs was unsuccessful! But I wanted to know whether I should split any up, or just leave them? I’m quite new to everything, I just want everything to be ok, the are lovely, and would hate for anything to happen to them. I know they are all not Related, except the younger girls, they are sisters. But the gander is not there real father, and they two adult geese are not there real mothers, they were just added in and taken care of, because I felt sorry for the adults, who wanted goslings, but it didn’t happen, so I brought them... I just wanted to know, how my gander, will react around my goslings? Thank you.

I have had ganders who were strongly pair bonded and would mate only one goose, but I have had ganders who would try to breed a water bucket given the chance. It all depends upon the particular gander. Did he breed both geese this spring ? If so, he may also breed the two younger geese.
