today's check looked ok, they seems to be bored, but what we and they can do, at least they are not fully closed in just the barn, but have some fresh air ground area. they got the fresh green today so i hope this gonna be ok as it is for now.

I’m sure they are bored but mine are too and it’s mainly Because its winter here, hopefully by spring this will be in the past for you all and they can all be set free to forage. The fresh greens an cabbage is always a hit I bet, mine sure look forward to it. I hope you all can handle this especially your birds till it’s over. What breed of ducks an chickens do you have and how are they handling the quarantine? I will say if something like what y’all are going through happened here just think of the advise you can give to us.

My birds would be going crazy and driving me crazy if they had to quarantine also...stay strong, it's for their best interest! And like miss lydia said...take notes, hopefully we won't need it, but anything is possible!

i've collected several breeds as far as i was able to investigate the breeds we have
2 pekin females (white)
2 rouen females
1 black female (should be rouen x pekin - swedish blue)
2 silver appleyrad females + 1 silver appleyard male
2 white black ancona males + 1 fully white ancona female)
2 orpington males + 1 orpington female

geese are 1 emden gander and 1 emden goose and 3 landes gray geese

other mix of breeds for chicken there are several breeds, i dont remmber all of the breeds as we bought several eggs and chicks and not all of them survived, but there are brahmas, wyandotete, exchenger, ayam cemani, sebrit, regular house mix etc.

that's why we are afraid loosing them, as they were not regular animals. their value for further breeding is more valuable than their meat and some where not easy to obtain

They are beautiful birds. Your Rouens are the show breed kind to heavy body We also have production Hatchery which look like a large Mallard but beautiful too. Do you show your ducks?

no they are not for shows, as my plans are different, I've found the source for the duck genes and I would like to mix the breeds for colours. I got my experience on hamsters where I proved my teories and calculations. So it's time to prove another one, that's why i'm afraid as first step is the collect the specific breeds then to have their babies and breed the babies to get the desired results. and if somehing happen i need to start over again and poultry will take for several years, if everything goes by plan my results should be proven by fall 2021. any "size product" can be sold or used in kitchen no matter what was the feather colour.
Geese dont have that much colour genes and as they are tame (as you may see my pic) I would not be able to replace them.
hens and roos, we have several breeds but making exact project would need to separate specific roos with specific hens and breed their babies later, their genes are too many so in this case i want just to set up some flock with several roos and hens to mix together, can't wait for the spring as the eggs are now very different.
only specific gene plan is now set for the ducks. we will need to make 2 groups on spring as i need eggs to be fertile from specific drakes, the plan is now my secret

as we are monitoring the behavior of our geese seems that the gander and white female are still pecking the one lightgrey away, no harm to the other two, which is sad as we don't wanna remove her entirely from the flock, outsided they are tolerating themselves but she is going to be useless if she is not fertilized and wont be able to hatch babies.

Having them closed up in small area probably has a lot to do with this. Maybe. To keep her stress free maybe rotate the females in with him and see if that helps?

we have the bigger cage ordered, should be delivered within following week. maybe that helps but anyway we dont think they will let her make a nest and go broody, but i would like to let her live for now. will see later.
