We will be spreading agricultural lime (calcium carbonate) on the yard this weekend. We had soil samples done and unfortunately the backyard needs it too. I have 5 ducks and 2 geese that free range on it during the day and are locked up at night. I've read that people use this in chicken coops without a problem, but couldn't find much about ducks/geese. We were going to do that part of the yard right before dark when the birds are locked up and then turn on the sprinklers for a few hours. Does anybody see a problem with letting them back on the grass in the morning? Thanks!

I've posted this in the Geese forum also.

We used lime in our duck shed about a month ago without any issues. We cleaned out the winter bedding, put the lime down, and put wood chips on top.

Thanks!
