I was watching my Sebastopols yesterday and saw them chasing after a cricket...that was a first for me. I didn't know they would eat insects.[IMG]

Have any of you seen them eating insects ?

Mine do. They apparently didn't get the memo about geese not eating insects. They'll even stalk the butterflies. [IMG]

Maybe it varies with the breed.
I rarely see my Sebastopols eating bugs.

They must ingest some by accident while foraging.

But on purpose? Maybe they're being territorial! To a bug! [IMG]

My buffs will eat the occasional bug, but they're not gungho for bugs or anything.

I've seen mine go after bugs but I thought they were just chasing after them, like a nuisance or an enemy. I never saw them actually eat one.

That's what I would think, they are protecting their area from the viscious monsters!

My embden ate a fly once, when it was a baby. The gosling was sitting on the grass between my feet, and the fly landed on my leg. "Land on MY mommy?? Take THAT!" [IMG]
