Geese Eggs with Detached air cells!

Hi all! I am new to the community but not new to birds or hatching. However, this is my first time hatching Sebastopol goose eggs. I had them shipped and all the air cells were horribly detached. I let them rest on the counter for 48 hours and have set them almost vertical in the bators as best I could with egg cartons. I won't start turning until 48 hours in. I read an amazing post by Pete55 where he said that after day 15 you can treat them "normally" because the membrane should be formed. Does this mean lay them down or continue to keep vertical. That guy was smart but it doesn't look like he has been active on here in many years sadly. Any tips or tricks for me? Does anyone know where the master Pete55 went? Thanks so much any advice is appreciated!

Hi I am in the same boat. I just received my sebastopol eggs with detached air cells. So far I have let sit 24 hrs, put in incubator for 48 hours vertical, not turning. And not turning 45 degrees still in vertical position because all air cells havent reattached yet

I plan to lay mine down as soon as I believe the air cells have reattached. Hoping by day 10

Mine are on day 5 and still not even a remote sign of reattachment!!! I don’t see any development yet either but I know it’s still early. Why are you thinking day 10?

Mine seem to be reattaching. I'm on day 7, I'm hoping a few more days would be enough. Once veins start attaching to the walls it strengthens the inside of the egg. I have 5 showing veins so far, I can tell 3 are not fertile.

How did it go. I’m in the same boat to. Mine have 13 more days to go and I still have them upright turning only 1x a day. I ordered 6 but only 3 started to develop and so far they look ok. I will post an update when or if they hatch. Did you lay them o. There side after day 15?

That’s not bad. I have read a lot and most people say don’t even try but you beat the odds. I’m trying to

Did any develop ?

Sadly all of them developed but none lived. I had one to pip that had green ooze come out which i believe was some kind of bacterial contamination possibly due to the handling. I think they were just way too scrambled for the dna to develop properly
