as for your yard - they need shelter and altho they are MOSTLY predator-proof.. they should be locked up at nite. do you have a shed or something?? they'll fight a dog and hold their own for a good long while, but a dog thats bent on killing them will. so is probably more about keeping predators out than keeping them in. unlike ducks, even tho geese need water (a big tub or better yet a $7 kidding pool), they arent superduper wet and wont ruin your yard. with a pool and a shelter they'll be happy as clams.
