Geez, be careful of CL and picking up chickens...

Edit: Nevermind, just saw that you looked into the details (age, etc.) of the charge. Sometimes people end up on the list for things like public urination, or are at risk to adults not kids, so always a good thing to see what youa re even dealing with.

I agree.Even going with your dh you need to be cautious.Read a few stories where ...well I read a few that are really sad, and make you realise when someone wants to do bad you have to be ready to fight for your life.

Thankfully more people are good than bad,but there is always a first time where thoughts become reality given the right circumstances.

I have a better place in mind for sex offenders....the place where I send my coons!

Amen.

Registry or not, (again let me state we have NO registry in Canada), I am dang careful when I go to a strangers house. You do not know this person.

'Packing heat' seems ridiculous to me, but maybe that is the Canadian part of me talking. Carrying weapons is no replacement for common sense.

I do agree that there are some good and bad points about the whole sex offender deal. I do think there are people who need to be on the list and maybe some who don't, I think women are much more freaked out by it and that should be a good thing within reason. I think if women would spend more time trying to protect themselfs they may feel better than just gossiping about it. Most of the weirdo's live in the country where they can get lost if the everybody mind your own business kinda attitude that prevails with country life. WTS you should always go with some guy you trust can to do something if things go bad, be sure to take a real guy not a girly man type, it's just smart on your part to protect yourself and your family, allways keep your guard up but try not to freak out first.

What your tittle suggest is.......... don't go pick up chickens off CL, trying to start a panic about CL is counter productive because you know so many ladies will read it and freak out and over react. Good luck on your search and definitely take the Ole man with you when you do go.

When my younger sister was just fresh out of high school she answered an ad for light housekeeping. She and her friend went together, thankfully!! She went home and told my older sister about this weird guy. My older sister had answered the same ad a while back and agreed that he was scarey. They mentioned him to may dad, a detective at the time. Come to find out, he had raped a couple of young girls answering his ads. He served time, was out....and apparently at it again.

Doesn't hurt to err on the side of caution.

My young drunk cousin had to register as a sex offender because he pinched a waitresses rear end in a bar. However, now you can go to the registry and view what the offense is, the age of the victim, etc....I believe in doing my homework. I would still always err on the side of caution.

We had a neighbor girl that was 13, told everyone she was 17. Got around a bit, and her parents filed charges on my step son and one of his friends. My step son wasn't charged because he had all of her text messages, the other friend wasn't as lucky and spent a year in jail and now is a Sex Offender for the rest of his life.

This girl in no way looked 13 years old. They look much older for some reason nowadays.

I still wouldn't go to a Registered Sex Offenders house though.
