I only have a question about 1 it's a mixed blue (lavender orpington x ee). I've considered this one a male by comb development early on but when we sorted the cockerels few weeks ago hubby said this one was female. I left him with the boys on account of we aren't ready to process anyone yet and I can let this one wait a little longer as I have young males I still need to sort to the processing pen also.

So again 12 weeks olds EE, my only concern about it not being red yet is one of my EE moms is 2yr old and has never had a red comb it had always been pink. I don't know if that would possibly effect an offspring if it is one of hers. My pullets in this group barely have combs yet as they have just started really coming in, while all the other cockerels have large red combs.

He (or she) will definitely wait until I'm 100% sure.

I really don't understand what it is about the red patches, all of the boys have them, too some extent, but some of the girls do too. I guess maybe they are different? I got lucky I have a blue female with no red, but i just figured she was one from my all white EE.
