I have 6 chicks. 2 of them are obviously boys but I am unsure on the rest. I would also like your opinion on breed ideas. I havn't a clue what breed they are meant to be, I got them for breakfast on a camping trip and then found out they were fertile so put them in the incubator instead! Many thanks in advance guys.

I really hope I have that many girls, it's about time my luck changed as I can't keep boys and seem to get them all the time. Has anyone any idea on breeds also? Maybe just mutts?

It's hard to tell for sure on breed until they get their big bird feathers.

1 cockerel, not sure on breed.
2 pullet, red sex link
3 looks like a pullet, looks like a black sex link
4 looks like a pullet, Delaware maybe?

I agree! Exactly what I was thinking, 4th def looks like a Delaware. The 3rd one really looks like a red sex link pullet! But it may be 2nd generation, so you can't be sure it's a girl by color. I actually think it's legs look more rooish, but it's comb isn't very red yet.

Thanks for that, I am off to get my books out to see what a Delaware looks like

I will keep posting in future weeks so I can be sure before I rehome any. I have already hatched more than my fair share of roo's this year (100% actually!!) so it's about time I got some pullets.

Many thanks
