Gender guess 1 month Ayem Cemani

You all are killing me. I really want Lenore to be a girl!!!

Updated pics. 5-weeks. I’m still leaning pullet. Maybe just because my other cockerels are more obviously male, or just because k really want her to be female, lol!

She HATES having her picture taken!
I'm thinking girl now!

Hey ya’ll. I need some reassurance. I’ve been confident Lenore (now 4 1/2 months) is a pullet. Today, she did the shoulder up move on me.

You guys know I get paranoid that every chicken I raise will turn out to be a rooster, so hopefully this is a case of unfounded paranoia. What do you think?

By this age, with most breeds I’m familiar with, a cockerel would be obvious. But I don’t have experience with this breed. She is still timid, but has started warming up a bit. She chatters nervously and sings when I pet her, but no crowing. She doesn’t have obvious sickle feathers. She’s very full around the saddle feather area but with her coloring/iridescence I can’t quite tell what I’m looking at. Her hackle feathers are noticeably pointier than the other same-age pullets (both Wyandotte mixes), yet not as pointy as the same age cockerel (Barnevelder). 🤔

Please convince me she’s still a she. 😉

Id say she is a pullet.
The ayams i hsd were easily noticeable by 2 weeks that they were cockerels.
I know the feeling i have one pullet from 3 hatches the rest were cockerels.
My last hatch of Russian Orloffs are 9-10 weeks and they arent showing any male signs yet but im waiting

I have the WORST luck with hatching males, lol. I keep waiting for the odds to swing the other way... but it hasn't happened yet.

Lenore's chatter
Looks like a girl to me! She's gorgeous.

Sorry but I’m thinking cockerel. The neck feathers in Lenore are very sharp and long= rooster. But if Lenore is a rooster Lenore would have saddle feathers. I don’t see any (yet possibly). Lenore’s comb is small=hen.I’m just not sure 🤔
You sound like me, lol. I do think most signs point to pullet, but the hackle feathers, the chattiness, and this mornings shoulder/spin maneuver when I pet her have me concerned.

I still think pullet! She’s got a small-ish comb and sounds like a girl. I don’t see any male saddle or sickle feathers, which would definitely be visible by now.
Thank you.

I thought her chattiness/noises could indicate roo. I feel like my young pullets aren’t that talkative. But if they are, they start chatting at a young age. Lenore only recently began making those sounds. 🤔
