Bought 4 "Jersey Giant females", now 11 weeks old, of which 2 have bright yellow on bottom of feet, & 2 have skin-color (pinkish-yellow) on bottom of feet. I am assuming that means Pearl & Onyx are Australorp. Today "Pearl" was patrolling the enclosure with chest out & tail held at 45 degree angle. The other 3 chicks want held regularly but Pearl is not interested in getting held (altho he/she is interested in treats). I have been suspicious for gender of both "Pearl" & "Onyx" due to quicker & larger size of comb, along with color since about 5weeks old. Additionally, most of the chicks give gentle pecks or tug on my clothes for attention but Pearl's pecking is much harder. Last time it drew blood and I gave strong correction. Discovering they are not the same breed relieved some of that suspicion. Yesterday I was able to get daughter to take photos.

Now I remember that when I purchased these from feed store the "chicken man" was busy at County Fair & they didn't allow me to pick chicks because "employee needs to do it". Substitute chicken salesman said he was picking largest chicks because then he knew I would be getting healthy ones.

PEARL
Interested in confirmation of breed and gender for Pearl (or "Earl"). Pictures below.

Top view of Pearl below.

Pic below is blurry but shows basic shape of Pearl's tail in profile (which is not nearly as pointed as Jazz's but tail is usually held at almost 45degree angle).

ONYX
Interested in confirmation of breed and gender for Onyx. Pictures below.

And Onyx again.

Either ONYX or Pearl
Uncertain whether these 2 pics below are Pearl or Onyx, but I thought I would throw them in because shows full body.

Again, either Pearl or Onyx below.

JAZZ
I think Jazz is probably Jersey Giant, but have become suspicious of sex due to extremely longer top tail feathers (& a few minutes ago it sounded like a first attempt at crowing). Interested in confirmation of gender for Jazz (with bright yellow on bottom of feet). Before Pearl & Onyx got so much bigger than Jazz & Snuggle, Jazz seemed to have extra strong drive. It wanted to be where it wanted to be, when it wanted to be there - very determined but also cuddly & was the only bird with cute little "Jazzy" tail feathers sticking out even at 1week old. This bird is submissive to both Pearl & Onyx (the suspected Australorps). Photos of Jazz below.

Unsuccessful attempt at face shot of Jazz below.

The pic below is blurry but shows legs & how much longer Jazz's top tail feathers are than lower feathers.

Top view of Jazz below.

In the pic below Jazz's legs show, looking up at me above the gate.

SNUGGLE
Snuggle flew up onto my shoulder because I picked up "the wrong chicken" (obviously I must have made a mistake because of course I wanted to pick up her first -didn't I??). Snuggle is the standing bird photo below.

Much thanks for any input.

I'm sorry I'm not more familiar with Jersey Giants. As a general rule I would cringe at being given "the biggest" since the biggest are often boys. And, there is quite a bit of red comb/wattles in all of them shown in those photos. That said, there isn't a substantial difference between the four of them so I would say they are all the same gender. They didn't jump out at me as being boys but....with the amount of red I do think that is a possibility.

Those are all pullets. The different sizes are not necessarily indicative of different breeds. They all appear to be the same breed, but JGs and Austalorps look nearly identical except for the soles of their little chicken feet!

Hi, Truthful! These are definitely all pullets. Pearl is not a Giant; her comb is not a single, from what I can see, but it's hard to tell in the pics. She appears to have a modified pea or a cushion-type comb. Can you get a clearer and closer picture of her head from the side & front?
