I don't know a whole lot about peachicks, but from the colors I would guess a peahen unless the bright colors come in later. Most birds of other species show some of their male plumage by this age.
There is a whole section on here specifically for Peafowl. You might have better luck asking there? I know diddly about Peas, but that looks like a male to me, their colors come in slowly from what I've heard. Go check out this link, good luck!
OK..so I'll ask here too since it's the topic I'm wondering about. I have a black shoulder peacock and India blue hens and I have no idea what I have here for chicks! 2 look more like the hen and 2 are cream color with some specks of dark one has green in the neck area.
I'll leave the M or F question to the experts!
But where did these chicks come from?
Because that last guy looks like he's got some green in him (judging by the crest).
Maybe the experts can weigh in on that too...
I rescued a Black shoulder male and an IB female last year and they gave me these 4 beauties this spring. But I sure don't know what I have and really need to get rid of a few at least.
Maybe I don't have what I think I have for Parents??
here's a picture of them...along with another female that I saved.
Is he a BS or something different???
