I believe these red ranger chicks are 5 weeks old, maybe 4. I have them in a pen in my coop at the moment, but will be letting them roam with my big ladies next week. We aren't allowed roosters in our town. I'm trying to figure out how many we will end up butchering.

The five whose combs & wattles I can see all look like cockerels. 5 weeks is still a bit early to sex with accuracy, though.

Red ranger cockerels are mostly white these birds are almost completely brown/red.

Edit: I take that back, my bad I thought they were the same as ISA browns and gold sexlinks. Oops. I'm still saying pullets though.

I didn't realize there was a color difference. Thank you! I'm completely new to this and didn't realize I bought meat birds until I got home.

Those all look like cockerels. My guess would be that they were selling all boys, since those are meat birds, but don't know that.
It was a straight run at my Tractor Supply Store. I'll keep an eye on them in the next few weeks in case the difference becomes more visible.
