Gender reveal part 2

It’s been about three weeks since I put pictures of my Easter Egger/Rhode Island Red mix babies on here but I was told to wait a bit and they will be eight weeks old tomorrow. I am thinking the first and the second are definitely cockerels. The other four seem to be females and I was just wondering what you all thought.

I agree with you but I would watch Maxine. Sometimes when you have multiple cockerels one will mature late. She seems a bit red but I dont want to say cockerel yet.

Yeah here’s another picture of Maxine this afternoon… I already gave one suspected cockerel away so I originally had three but he went to a nice home so that he could be a daddy chicken… Ha ha!View attachment 2218813

I'm leaning cockerel but would wait and see.

why one mature latter?

I'm not 100% sure why. But I've seen many times when there are multiple cockerels one will begin to mature faster. Sometimes the one that matures slower wont even begin to crow until they are much older while they let the other rooster crow instead.

I have one that's going slow so if it's COCKEREL when should Comb become pink they are now 5 weeks old

Sometimes their combs look redder to me than others but I’m not sure why. Maxine might become a Max. She’s definitely not as obvious as the other two if she is a boy. The other one that I got rid of was also pretty obvious, as well.

Maxine- pullet.
Rudy- maybe cockerel but could just be an early bloomer hen.
Barney- cockerel.
I would wait until they start laying eggs to make final decisions on gender. Sometimes pullets will crow, but it’s not very common.
