Gender???

So is it better to have one male per female or if I have two females would one male be ok for the two of them?

A male can breed a harem of 5 females but for best breeding results have 1-3 hens per male.

Looks like it could be a Spalding female? IMO, not enough barring to be male, but does have more colored chest feathers than mine do. Ignore the color of the flights, hens can have those colored flights, too. More pictures of this one would be helpful.

The Black Shoulder is the only one I know for sure is a male. The colored chick looks like a Spalding hen since it has barring in the mid section, or at least it reminds me of my Spalding hen. The Purple Pied and Cameo I don't see barring so I will go with hen.

Black shouldered male. In the second picture there is another pea that looks like a hen.
