Gender?

Sooo I hatched this chicken last May and first thought it was a rooster as “it” crowed for about a week. Since then I haven’t heard a peep and have caught “it” sitting in the nesting boxes. Please help...tired of feeding free loaders lol

Pullet. It can take some chickens a long time for some to start to lay.

We had dark brown Leghorns that hatched Feb 28 last year. First one layed first egg around 38 weeks, next at 44 weeks, and third one hadn’t laid yet by the time we sold them around 45 weeks. Healthy, just took forever to lay. All others in same hatch (5 other breeds) began to lay between 18-26 weeks.

Hopefully eggs from her in the increasing light and warmth!

Silkie mix pullet. I have 2 myself.
