Hi everyone, I’ve been reading a lot but first post.
I bought 3 Australorps as day old chicks in early November, and I’m hoping for some confirmation of gender. I *think* I have one roo and 2 pullets, and was happy to wait to find out, but now I’m needing to move from acreage to residential area, and I don’t think my neighbours will approve of a rooster. He’s my favourite, quite personable and friendly, so I really don’t want to part with him!
Thanks :)

Hi and welcome.

I have my doubts about the blue in the middle. The uneven colouring and large red comb are what have me doubting it is female. It is unusual for saddle feathers not to be showing by 4 months. Can you post a close up side profile of that middle blue. How long has it had that red comb? What do it's shanks look like?

Sorry, should have added that the middle chicken in the second photo is the same chicken as the first photo (I don’t know why he looks more black in the first pic, camera phones!) the comb development was what was making me think roo. They’re exactly 3 months today, I need to double check my posts before hitting send when typing on my phone.
