That would explain also why all the chicks from my 'other' Black sex linked roo x Black hen turned out looking like cockoo marans ! The three I was told were BSL's all came from the same bin at TSC. They were originally supposed to be Black Asians (or so the card on the cage said).

TSC is notorious when it comes to mixing chicks up, & mislabeling the bins.

Since the rooster was Barred, all offspring will be Barred.

Looks like he didn't inherit the barring gene. Still pretty.

I gotta look at the rooster again. I think I may have looked him wrong the first time.

The rooster is single Barred, so that explains the missing barring.

He may actually be a hybrid like an Asian black.

The pink legs gave him away, he's a Cockoo Marans.. Not BSL like I assumed.
