General info and guidelines for raising chickens

Hi im knew to raising chickens and have a ton of questions. How big should the coop be for 5 chickens? how thick can the wood they roost on be? How are chickens in cold weather? How do i know if the chicks are ready to be moved outside? How big should their run be?

Welcome to the flock. If you have cold winters, it's best to use the 2x4 roosts with the 4" side up. Chickens like to spread their feet flat, so they can hunker down and keep their feet warm.
