Faith looked up at sympathy with squinted eyes
"Sympathy?Is that you?" her vision was blurred
"ya mama! Its me! What happened?! "
"Fox!" trickster yelled "chased off the whole flock."
Sympathy looked down at her mother dying right in front of her. She had a gash in her side the size of a freshly dug up nightcrawler right after it rains.
"MAMA!!" she sobbed "Don't leave me!"
Faith looked up at her with watery eyes and smiled "its time"
then her head slowely dropped..

hmm, try NOT to kill her off...or I won't read it anymore, death is not something I like to read about.

Chicks don't have much experience with death. Maybe they only think she's dead, and then they have to leave with the rest of the flock. Then, Faith could surprise them a few years later by finding the flock and coming in, after following them and trying to find them.
Great story though!
