Genesis 1588 How do i treat the red plug???

You'll just have to give it a try one way or the other and if it doesn't work try it the other. What works for one person doesn't always work for the next. So much depends on where you live, your natural humidity, even your altitude can make a difference.
 
I leave my red plug in too. I only remove it if the humidity is too high, otherwise, mine will drop to the 20's with that fan running in there so much. The room humidity in my basement is around 50%, but the bator stays at 40% with the red plug in and no water added. You'll have to do a test run and chart it a time or two. Good luck. HenZ
 
Off topic hope it's ok. With my 1588 is it ok to do only a dozen eggs or so? Didn't want to start a new thread with such a goofy question. thanks Mike
 
Yup, under capacity is ok. Over is generally not ok.
