Genesis 1588 incubator

Hey everyone, I just set my first batch of eggs in my new Genesis 1588. I was wondering if any of you left it at the factory preset-100F, or changed it to 99.5F? Thanks!

Just leave it at the factory settings. Keep your humidity at about 45% and you will get excellent hatches. We really enjoy the convenience of our Genesis incubator!

Well our Genesis spiked to 107 and cooked the eggs. I guess that after over 4 years of almost constant use it finally could not take the job anymore and retired! We are looking at a Sportsman cabinet type to buy next month. We did hatch a LOT of eggs over the last 4 years. Overloaded the turner several times. It was money well spent!

Ordered a new top with all the updates tonight. It should arrive in a few days. We will probably make it a goose hatcher.

Wow! How do hatches with that many eggs come out? I didn't know that was possible. Did you just leave all the eggs like that to hatch, or move them?

I have two 1588 and a Little Giant. I use my 1588's to incubate and my LG as a hatcher. It works out pretty good. Ive had really good hatch rates

One of mine finally gave it up after 6 years, so its kinda hard to complain..It never spiked though, it started dropping not holding temp.

These eggs were split hatch dates. The turner actually did turn the extra eggs and the hatch rate was good.

We ordered a new top last night so we can still use this for the goose eggs. We will order a Sportsman next month for hatching chicken eggs. Jahdan (12) has added way to many birds for us to just use the Genesis.
