Genesis incubator

Well my eggs went in. but only thing that bothers me is my thermometers are showing 98 - its steady but I'm wondering if this hatch will happen or not - anyone have a good hatch with the temp at 98?

THey do say not to adjust the temp - that the thermostat is set already on the genesis....... but it still is making me nervous - I don't have the BEST thermometers - the one that came with it, and another cheesy one I bought for the brooder when I got my chicks.

You could put a small jar or glass of water let it heat up and stick a meat thermometer or a baby thermometer and see what it reads. I use a wet bulb thermometer in mine to test and it works great.

wildsky the directions say that the thermostat is usually more accurate than a thermometer and that u should hatch a batch of eggs to see how it works before making any adjustments. I have the model 1590, but i think they are the same basically.

I just got mine and it reads consistently at 99.3 on my other two thermometers. 56% on humidity.
